Celebrating Diwali

It's that time of year again. Diwali. The Festival of Lights. Time to celebrate light over darkness and the victory of good over evil. Samedh and I have done a little bit of holiday decorating, and I'm posting those some photos taken by relatives in India as well. Last Saturday, Pankaj, Samedh and I attended a Diwali function in Grand Rapids. Pankaj helped to coordinate the event this year, and the turn out was great. For the next several days, we'll be celebrating in small ways at home, though fireworks and sparklers are NOT on the agenda this year. It's just too cold, rainy and windy to want to be outside. In fact, I think it is supposed to snow overnight!
