A few weeks ago, we attended a local event in town called Day of the Young Child. There were plenty of indoor activities and crafts for kids inside the middle school downtown, but Samedh's main goal was to see the big trucks and rescue vehicles parked outside. They had everything there but a backhoe (and Samedh was really excited to see a backhoe up close). I just explained that the backhoe was needed at a local job site, and he understood. But Samedh did get to sit inside a cement mixer, school bus, ambulance, and sheriff's patrol boat. He also got up close and personal with a snow plow, fire truck, and various other vehicles. This event really made his day!
